How to cure ingrown toenail at home: 3 effective methods

Beautiful and well-groomed feet are not only about aesthetics, but also about comfort. A pedicure in a salon is certainly a pleasant procedure, but not always you have the time and opportunity to visit it. Fortunately, it is possible to maintain the beauty of feet and nails at home - you just need to know a few tried-and-true tips.
The best time to get a pedicure is after a bath/shower
The best time to get a pedicure is right after a shower. At this point, the feet are clean and the cuticle is soft and easier to gently push back. It is recommended to apply a nourishing cream and cuticle oil to your nails immediately after your bath: only regular moisturising will keep your skin healthy, soft and well-groomed.
Do a double exfoliation
For those whose heel skin is thick and prone to cracking, we recommend a two-step exfoliation. Before taking a shower, grate dry feet, paying attention to particularly rough areas. Then repeat the procedure in the bath when the skin has softened and become more pliable.
Clean any cream and oil from the nail plate
Before applying nail polish, clean the nail plate thoroughly to remove any traces of care cosmetics. You can use rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. A nail primer is the best option: it not only removes grease and impurities, but also equalises the pH level, ensuring perfect adhesion of the nail polish.

Wait for your nails to dry
It is not advisable to apply nail polish to nails that are not completely dry. As moisture evaporates, the nail plate shrinks slightly, which can cause the nail polish to crack and peel. To ensure perfect coverage, wait at least 30 minutes before buffing and applying polish.
Excessive drying of the lacquer
All coats should be thoroughly dried, but not over-dried. To achieve the perfect result, we recommend working in alternating layers: first apply base, colour and finish on one foot before moving on to the other.
A thin layer of nail polish gives a better effect
Applying several thin coats of nail varnish is much more effective than one thick one, as this will give you a smooth pedicure without unwanted unevenness.
Get a pedicure in the evening
We recommend getting a pedicure in the early evening, when you are definitely not planning to leave the house and do household chores. Allow the fresh nail polish to dry completely - sit comfortably in front of the TV for a couple of hours and then go to bed in peace.
Use a nail polish dryer
If you don't want to spend time stressing about accidentally damaging your fresh polish after a pedicure, there's a great solution - a drying pad that not only quickly fixes the finish, but also gives your nails a radiant, perfect shine.
